Pelham Bicycle Center Tip of the Day

Floor Pumps: Every Cyclist Needs One! - Few cyclists regret owning a floor pump. These inflators differ in size and ease and speed of inflation from the one you carry on your bike. They're called floor pumps because they're used while they're standing on the floor (versus hand-held frame pumps). Floor pumps feature larger barrels and two-hand handles to easily deliver a lot more air with each stroke. The best models are serviceable for a lifetime of use. Get one with a gauge so you can check air pressure to ensure correct inflation. And, use your floor pump (put it in the car if you're driving to an event) before every ride. Save your frame pump for emergencies.
